The local community wish to protect and preserve our open spaces and maintain the historic character of Manningtree and Mistley for future generations to enjoy. Developers are taking advantage of loopholes in the Goverments' National Planning Policy Framework NPPF and the current absence of a Local Plan. As a result Manningtree, Mistley and Lawford are witnessing a rush of unwanted housing developments on greenfield sites. We want to STOP the housing development on Mistley Place Park which will permanently block the historic views across to the River Stour and from 'The Walls' towards Mistley. We believe this 'Protected Open Land' should be left free from development in this important Conservation Area. This beautiful vista is an important 'Strategic Green Gap' between the villages of Mistley and Manningtree. As part of the proposed extension for the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this land should have the highest level of protection from development. We urge Tendring District Council to listen to the community and refuse this application.
