We are not claiming these cases are connected. We are saying the American public deserves to know whether they are.

In the past three years, ten scientists, engineers and researchers tied to US military and defense programs have gone missing or turned up dead. 

A retired Air Force Major General who oversaw classified research vanished from his home in February.

A NASA rocket scientist disappeared without a trace on a well-traveled hiking trail.

A nuclear weapons contractor walked out of his house and was never seen again.

A leading MIT physicist was shot in his home.

The White House says it is looking into it. The National Nuclear Security Administration says it is aware of the reports. That is a start. It is not enough.

Americans who work on the nation's most sensitive defense and scientific programs deserve to know their government is taking their safety seriously. The families of those who have gone missing deserve answers. And the American public deserves full transparency about what is known, what is being investigated, and what conclusions have been reached.

This is not about conspiracy theories. It is about basic government accountability. When ten people connected to classified defense research go missing or die in a three year period, the government owes the public a clear, transparent accounting of the facts.

We are calling on Congress to open a formal, independent investigation and report its findings publicly.
