Petition for Temasek Poly to place the 15 minutes grace back!!

The Issue

Sometimes unexcepted happenings might occur at the last minute, for example a jam, having to help out with the family members who is having difficulties with things.... etc, resulting in the student attending for lessons at a later time even though he came out of home/workplace early.

The 15 minutes grace in the past helped ease things, now that it's not in effect anymore, students are affected, having to rush and wake up at a even earlier time compared to the past which is more easy for us.

A thought for others that live at the other end of Singapore. Not everyone has free time and a easygoing schedule allowing them to wake up at an even earlier time every morning. For students who are struggling with work before school, because they have no choice but to work in order to survive due to the cost or bills they have to pay, not saying the grace is a good reason for students to be late, but it will help just in case the student that is getting from work to school is stuck in a jam or so, the 15 minutes grace would help lessen the stress burden of the student.

Getting from module classes to CDS classes would be affected as well. For example if the students wishes to stay back and ask a few questions with regards to their module classes, yet they'll be marked as late if they are late for their CDS classes.

Yea yea, the grace is a privilage to students, we should not use it as a reason to be late, but at the same time it had helped students who are genuinely late for a unexpected good reason in the past.

I don't see how some lecturer or teacher can be late for teaching the class as well if the 15 minutes grace doesn't apply in the *real world*.

With every signature, a email will be sent to the principal of Temasek Poly to reconsider and petition for this.
