Tell Your Congressperson that Voting for H.R. 26 will Save Veterans!
The Issue
With the ever increasing of number of Veterans returning from multiple tours, the instances of Veterans attempting and committing suicide is rising as well. With an estimated 18 Veterans committing suicide a day, it is obvious that current mental health screening and assessment is not as thorough as it should be.
H.R. 26 is a proposed bill that will require mandatory face to face mental health and traumatic brain injury screenings for each member of the armed forces during the beginning of 90 days after the member completes a deployment and then more screenings 180 days thereafter. Read the full description of the legislation here: http://1.usa.gov/jyXRD8
By educating and urging our Congresspeople about the importance of their support for this pending legislation, it can move on to the next stage in the legislative process, moving closer to becoming law and helping our Nation's Veterans.
