Tell Washington State Senators: Stand Up For Marriage Equality
A bill has recently been introduced in the Washington State Senate that would allow gay couples to be married in your state. It has not yet been put up for a vote, but it has already been signed by 25 Senators - the minimum number needed for passage. However, several of these Senators are either Republicans or Democrats from conservative districts. They will be under heavy pressure from anti-Gay groups to change their votes. We need to let them know that their stances are supported by the majority of the American people. We also need to keep up the pressure on those who have not yet expressed support for the bill.
Please sign this petition urging Washington State Senators to lend their support to the marriage equality bill today.
A bill has recently been introduced in the Washington State Senate that would allow gay couples to be married in your state. If you have already pledged to support the bill, thank you. Your decision took courage. If you have not pledged to support the bill, please do so immeadiately.
Gay couples only want the right to make a lifetime commitment to those they love through the sacred institution of marriage, the same as straight couples. This is not a political or a cultural issue. This is a fairness issue. If you truly wish to stand up for marriage, please vote to allow all adults, both gay and straight, to enjoy its benefits.
