In order for The Salvation Army to live up to its own founding principle of practicing evangelism "without discrimination," it is necessary for them to not only change their current "PRIVATE" stance on LGBT membership but also change how they will respond to officers (clergy) who participate in same-sex marriages and unions. It not only stands in their long tradition of being on the forefront of equality (as they were on the ordination of women) but also stands solidly in what should be the cornerstone of any Christian ministry -- love.
