The DNC, party establishment, and Democratic Party-aligned think tanks signal a shift rightward, despite many voters wanting the party to be more progressive, and despite the party having record-low popular support. Instead of appealing to more left-leaning young people and the growing democratic socialist movement, the party has opted to fill a more moderate role in American politics.

If Democrats want to win, they must embrace the progressive movement and its ideas, namely the Green New Deal.

While the DNC 2024 platform did address climate change, there was no explicit endorsement of the Green New Deal, and that must change. 

Climate change does not wait, and neither should we.

As Democrats and independents, we are calling on the DNC to explicitly endorse the Green New Deal in its Democratic Party Platform going forward.
