Coyote 6

For the last few months, residents of the Willow Glen neighborhood near San Jose, California, have grown concerned for the welfare of an adult female coyote with a severe case of mange, watching as her health deteriorates.

Concerned residents have made numerous calls to the California Department Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and the San Jose Animal Care Center, with no luck. It seems they are unwilling to put any effort into this animal’s capture.

The Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley, too, is unable to assist, although they are willing to accept the coyote for treatment. If she recovers from her illness, she will be returned to her home in the hills. That is the goal.

It is the duty of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife as a trustee agency, to protect our wildlife, yet they seem intent on doing nothing, as this poor animal’s health continues to decline. As if they are waiting for her to die from exposure or get hit by a car.

This is not acceptable.

Join us in demanding the California Department of Fish and Wildlife do their job and capture this animal or facilitate in its capture and transport.

Please not that your donations do not go directly to us. They go to change.org for support of the platform.
