Tell Starbucks: Commit to a 100% Cage-Free Egg Policy

Starbucks prides itself on its social responsibility. They've made attempts to be a greener company, focusing on saving water and recycling. They even have vegan options. But the coffee giant has still not made an important commitment to animal welfare by switching to a 100% cage-free egg policy.

In the United States, millions of hens are currently kept in battery cages, cages so small they do not have room to spread their wings. They are kept in filthy conditions, and do not receive veterinary care. Cage-free hens are able to walk around, and they have two to three times the amount of space as those kept in cages.

Cage-free facilities not only improve the lives of hens, but also reduce public health risks. Cage-free facilities have significantly lower rates of salmonella than cage facilities do.

I recently read on Change.org that Starbucks has not yet committed to a 100% cage-free egg policy. I am writing to urge Starbucks to commit to using exclusively cage-free eggs as soon as possible.

They are kept in filthy conditions, and do not receive veterinary care. Cage-free hens are able to walk around, and they have two to three times the amount of space as those kept in cages.

Starbucks is a company that prides itself on social responsibility. I appreciate the effort you've made to be greener as a company, from recycling initiatives to attempts to save water. The company has made an effort to provide more vegan options in the past year, proving that Starbucks is invested in animal welfare.

Please show that Starbucks is fully committed to improving the lives of millions of animals, and is concerned with protecting the health of its consumers. Adopt a 100% cage-free egg policy at Starbucks.

Thank you.
