Protect the Grizzly, Stop Killing & Harassing Explorer Bears

Protect the Grizzly, Stop Killing & Harassing Explorer Bears
The Issue
Explorer bears are being harrassed and killed at an alarming record setting rate.
Grizzlies are dispersing on to the landscape due to the effects of climate change. The bears must be shown tolerance and given “room to roam” in a climate refuge/safe zone. We must learn to coexist with the great bear. If removal from the endangered species list is dependent upon connectivity, then killing explorer bears will forever keep grizzly populations separated and unrecovered.
We are asking President Biden and Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland to evaluate the effects of climate change on the bear and pass the Tribal Heritage and Grizzly Bear Protection Act.
We also urge the administration to reset the U.S. Fish, and Wildlife Services’ (USFWS) grizzly management policy, especially the 1986 grizzly removal Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee Guidelines, and establish a fresh direction. The State of Montana, under the current administration, has no interest in true grizzly recovery, and its anti-wildlife policies should not hold sway as USFWS works to meet its mandate to recover threatened species.
In order for the grizzly to survive the effects of climate change and to be removed from the endangered species list the bears need: Secure habitat, tolerance, connectivity, wildlife crossings, and "room to roam".
