Tell NZ Racing Minister to Stop Dog Racing Now

The Issue

Dear Mr. Racing Minister,

I am writing to urge you to end dog racing in New Zealand. A recent SPCA poll showed that 74% of New Zealanders would vote to ban dog racing and more than 38,000 have signed a petition urging government action now.

As long as dog racing continues, greyhounds will suffer and die. Just in the last three racing seasons, there were 2,622 injuries and over 500 deaths of innocent hounds. This is no way to treat a dog. Greyhounds are living, breathing family friends who deserve to be protected.

Please listen to your constituents, protect your country from the reputational harm it is now suffering, and announce that is time to close down New Zealand’s six dog tracks.
