Tell MarketStar To Change Their Policy Regarding Medical Cannabis Use

The Issue

My name is Brandon M. I live in California. I'm a student, an animal lover, and I'm a Medical Cannabis user. I was recently hired at MarketStar for a sales position. I was notified at the time of my job offer that I would be required to complete a drug screening. Because of time and logistics issues, I went through training and started working immediately. I fell in love with my job and my co-workers. In my first 2 days of work after completing training, I obtained sales numbers far beyond my peers. Then the results of my drug screen came back positive for THC.

I have had crippling migraines since I was 14 years old. My vision has suffered, my work has suffered in the past, and my overall quality of life has been diminished. I have been prescribed a number of medications to treat my migraines but nothing has helped. I decided to start researching Medical Cannabis. After finding an overwhelming amount of information regarding migraine sufferers having success with Medical Cannabis, I decided to ask my doctor for a recommendation. It worked. I am no longer a migraine sufferer.

Even after explaining my situation to MarketStar, they chose to be completely insensitive to my needs and terminated my employment immediately. My treatment in no way interfered with my job performance. They fired me because I found a way to live a normal, migraine free life. They fired me even though I took what steps I had available to me under California State Law.

Please help me tell MarketStar that this sort of discrimination against their employees is not okay and to rescind my and possibly many others terminations.
