A lot of food stores have made an area for organic food and produce. At Market Basket, there is not a lot of organic products, and there is no true organic section! The only thing that is visibly organic in the store is one small isle of produce. This is not acceptable.

DeMoulas Market Basket is a supermarket that originates in Massachusetts and is known for having very inexpensive food. With this success of giving the customers "More for Your Dollar", this chain has been climbing the ladder at a fast pace for over 100 years. With the economy being very dismal, this store has helped thousands of struggling families to put food on their table.

There is only one problem; the health of the customers that go into Market Basket is not really being put into the picture. By emphasizing the bad caloric food in the supermarket by putting it in front of the consumer so frequently, it can hurt the consumer's health and well being.

Right when you walk in to any Market Basket, what's the first thing you see? Just take a guess... it's the registers, the customer service desk, and sweets. You see pies, donuts, cake, and candy at times. The first thing that anyone should want to see when they walk in to any supermarket is healthy foods, like produce, nuts, and healthy snacks that are low in fat, salt, and sugars. This will help the consumers make healthier choices and choose more produce; this will cut down the throwing out of excess of produce that goes bad.

Also, Market Basket should label that the food on their shelves is that is organic with special colored tabs, so the customer is informed that that product is a healthier choice for them.

There is also a lot of placing problems of the sections of food. At almost all of the markets, the produce section is in the very far corner of the store. All you see when you walk in is isles of food and the end caps are filled with unhealthy deals, like soda, cookies, sugary juices, chips, and many others.

This petition is to let Market Basket know that their customers want affordable and visible healthy, and organic food to buy from them.
