For awhile now, we have succumbed to accepting the term "gay" as a representative identity for the entire community. While we have formed our personal and communal movements for a more inclusive LGBTQ rights movement, it is crucial that make all spaces LGBTQ inclusive. The term "gay" as an umbrella term for the queer community (which extends to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, questioning, queer, asexual, pansexual/polysexual, etc indviduals) is erasive and does not help in solidarity building. And more importantly, the term "gay" as an inclusive term creates a message that other identities do not exist and gay individuals have the right to speak for individuals of other identities: they do not! This idea is not worthy of subscription--this idea is not right!

This is not just the "gay" community! This is not a "gay" exclusive movement! And we should not defend a movement that continues to communicate itself as such. This includes websites that do not be mindful of identities that are not synonymous to the word "gay."
