Televising the criminal trials of our former President will allow the American people to view it first-hand, rather than having it interpreted by news organizations.  

Prosecutors claim that "the defendant" tried to take away our votes as Americans.  Because of this, all American citizens have a stake in the trial's outcoming - because of this, we deserve to observe the trial first hand.  The prosecution alleges that the defendant attempted to steal our votes - if we've been the victim of a theft, we deserve to view the trial of the man accused of the theft.
