Pledge to promote healthy relationships

Pledge to promote healthy relationships
The Issue
1 in 3 teens, both boys and girls, will experience abuse in a dating relationship and 2/3 of them will never report it. It is time that we take responsibility for our own actions and hold our peers accountable for theirs so as to end the cycle of violence.
Everyone deserves to be happy, healthy, and safein their relationships. By signing this pledge, I am committing to promote healthy relationships.
By signing this pledge, I can...
CHOOSE TO DATE and CHOOSE TO BE SAFE
I pledge:
To always treat my boyfriend with respect.
To support my girlfriend in whatever way I can.
To value my boyfriend's thoughts, feelings, and opinions.
To listen to and respect my girlfriend’s limits.
To be honest with my boyfriend.
To always treat my girlfriend as an equal.
To communicate openly with my boyfriend.
To accept responsibility for my actions—and hold my friends accountable for theirs.
To never harm my dating partner - emotionally, physically, sexually, financially, or digitally.
To speak out when I see violence and abuse.
