teenage pregnancy is not a game

The Issue

Teenage pregnancy is a significant societal issue that needs urgent attention. It not only affects the life of the teenager but also has profound implications on society. The U.S. still has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the industrialized world, with about 20% of all pregnancies being reported by teenage girls (source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). These early pregnancies often lead to school dropouts, lower income potential, and increased public assistance costs. Moreover, children born to teenage mothers are more likely to have lower school achievement and drop out of high school, have more health problems, be incarcerated at some time during adolescence, give birth as a teenager themselves, and face unemployment as young adults (source: Office of Adolescent Health). We must take immediate action to provide comprehensive sex education in schools and make contraceptives readily available for teenagers. By doing so we can reduce these numbers significantly over time. Let's work together towards creating an environment where every child is wanted and every mother is prepared for the responsibilities that come with raising a child. Please sign this petition if you believe in making this change happen!
