Eric Jamal Johnson (known also by his rap name, Santana Sage) was convicted of murdering a white woman while on leave from the US marines. Eric Johnson was then Sentenced To 44 Years In State Prison. 

Eric believed his life was in danger and wanted to protect his friends that night after the people in the other car shouted obscenities at Eric and his friends. The people in the other car also allegedly called Eric a N*gger and made motions as if they had a gun. A passenger in Sara’s car also allegedly Asked Eric If he wanted to get shot. Eric also testified that he tried driving away, but the people in the other car continued following him even after he ran a red light.

Many details of that night were incorrectly blasted by the media who made Eric look bad. The truth is not what was reported by the media. 

The state also tried claiming Eric was a member of the bloods without evidence, and even though the jury was told to disregard the claim, it should have never been mentioned in the first place, and it likely tainted the jury’s view on Eric. 

The media portrayed Eric as a Violent thug when he was serving our country. He also expressed remorse over the incident, and when asked how he felt, he said “for lack of a better word, like Sh*t” 

I ask that you sign this petition to free Eric Johnson and I ask that the state of Texas consider giving Eric Johnson a new trial.
