Worldwide, deforestation is estimated to be responsible for about 12% of greenhouse gas emissions. Forests house carbon in wood, leaves, and soil. The tale of deforestation from pulp mills and paper production is a complex one, and several developments are mitigating the loss of forests due to paper. Now nearly 4 billion trees or 35 percent of the total trees cut around the world are used in paper industries on every continent. The United States EPA has found that recycling paper causes 35% less water pollution and 74% less air pollution than making virgin paper. Pulp mills can be sources of both air and water pollution, especially if they produce bleached pulp. and I think that we can start to use hemp or bamboo instead of wasting paper and cutting down trees about every year about an estimated  15.3 billion trees are cut down and that is too many because if we were to use bamboo they can grow a few feet overnight and it doesn't take as long to grow than trees so, in the long run, we save a lot of trees and a lot of time because it takes some were around 5-10 year to grow one tree but hemp and bamboo take about 75% less time to grow those and it would be better for the environment and the health of our future generations.
