I understand the impact of the COVID-19 virus as I’m a frontline doctor. However, the decision to cancel exams with no forewarning has been devastating to millions of children across the UK.  The COVID crisis has affected their childhood in an indescribable way. The swine flu epidemic occurred at exam time and schools took precautions to seat them further apart. The timing of  exams could also have been delayed. We would like the government to reconsider their decision and involve Headteachers, school communities and parents in any proposed solution in cancelling GCSES and A levels. A collective and inclusive approach means we can find a goal that suits all.
