Make General Admissions at TD Garden on the 26th Safer

The Issue

On October 26th there will be a Twenty One Pilots concert at TD Garden in Boston. The current policy in place for General Admissions for that concert is that there will be no camping or lines allowed and no wristbands given out. This can, and has been known to, cause a massive rush for the doors when finally allowed. People have broken bones during rushes like these. They are a huge hazard and not a particularly fair method of lining people up.

Because of TD Garden's location, allowing a long line to form is not entirely feasible, but in the past they've given out wrist bands that mark one's spot in the queue so no line is necessary, nor is a rush necessary, and no one cuts or cheats. There is no reason why this policy can't be put in place now. It's not too late.

This is for everyone's safety, not just mine and my friends'. A bunch of kids rushing a building that is set next to a busy intersection/street is not a good idea and could result in serious injuries. On top of that, this can not be excused as "standard" policy for venues, even big ones. We've now seen two examples on this tour alone of venues that protect and support the concertgoers. That's how it should be always and everywhere. Most venues provide some sort of line security and a way to organise people, whereas TD Garden is doing nothing of the sort which will likely result in situations similar to Tour de Columbus where the rush was a free-for-all and people got crushed under each other.

If we can get the attention of TD Garden and spread awareness on this issue among venues then maybe we can affect not only this concert, but also make future concerts more safe, accessible, and enjoyable. We've seen venues that do it right and take care of people. It's time TD Garden steps up to do the same. They should be providing wristbands for everyone one who shows up ahead of the official line at least. Let's make that happen.
