As an avid snow globe collector (I have one for every city I, or my dad has visited) and Taylor Swift enthusiast, I feel as though the Lover snow globe should be restocked not only because of its overwhelming success (selling out in hours— probably minutes, I found out 4hrs after it was released and was sorely disappointed to find I was too late to the punch), but because of the ridiculous resale value it’s garnered on eBay and sites akin to it.

This is admittedly a silly ask, but a genuine one. I realize the globes were meant to be limited edition and prized by your most ravenous and loyal fans (I certainly identify as such, hence the petition), but some of those who’ve gotten ahold of your beloved project have been placing them on the resale market with a markup upwards of 900%. $500+ for a snow globe that originally cost (an undeniably hefty, for me especially, and I’m sure for many others as well) $50. A hard earned Ulysses S. Grant I was more than willing to shell out in support of you and in homage to one of my favorite songs on Lover (‘It’s nice to have a friend’, being the favorite and ‘Soon you’ll get better‘ a song I can’t finish without calling my mom on the verge of tears, I love you and thank you Tay), on an item I predicted was on the horizon and already had a great particular affinity for. While this petition does stem from a personal place, it is born now from tired witness to the ridiculous greed unavoidable in our increasingly more aggressive e-commerce society.  

I hope you see this and consider restocking the globes to discourage these merch scalpers, and give real fans a chance at sharing in the fun of your fanciful creations. If not, I still thank any attention brought to my small cause. I adore you, your mind, and your heart Taylor, and I adore the community of fans I’m a proud part of, thank you all for changing my life in the ways you did.
