Reports from the National Tax Service (NTS) allege that Cha Eun woo is linked to a tax evasion case worth more than 20 billion won, or approximately 13.6 million dollars, involving a company reportedly established by his mother.

Following a tax audit conducted last year, the NTS issued a tax assessment to Cha, whose real name is Lee Dong min, before his military enlistment in July 2025. The main issue centers on whether the company should be considered the actual taxpayer under the law.

His agency has stated that the case has not yet been officially confirmed and that they will fully explain their side through proper legal procedures.
