Reno Experience District is an apartment complex in Washoe County that is run by Lyon Living, a California-based company. A substantial majority of their units have been empty since it was built as they have set housing prices far above the local average and refuse to lower them.

The Reno City Council and Nevada State Legislature should tax empty units in the city with a specific focus on properties that have more than 50 empty units. During a recession and housing crisis, a California company should not be allowed to withhold housing from Reno natives in order to focus on providing housing to California transplants.
