As a person born with Thrombocytopenia Absent Radius (TAR) Syndrome, my firsthand experiences have deeply informed me of the distinct challenges we encounter in the workplace. These challenges are not only barriers to employment but also to living a dignified life where we can ensure the safety of our personal property and well-being. This petition seeks to address these challenges by advocating for Telecommunications ADA Accommodation for individuals with TAR Syndrome and limb deformities, enabling them to work from home in a private, secure workspace. Furthermore, this petition calls upon the Federal Government and State Officials to reconcile the employment injustice faced by an individual named Jeramiah with Charter Communications LLC - Spectrum.

Jeramiah's experience is a stark illustration of the discrimination and lack of empathy that can pervade the workplace for individuals with disabilities. After being a victim of a carjacking incident while performing work assignments as a door-to-door salesperson, Jeramiah requested Telecommunications ADA Accommodation to work from home in a secured workspace. Rather than receiving the necessary support and accommodation, Jeramiah faced retaliation from Spectrum, leading to wrongful termination. This not only infringed upon Jeramiah's rights under Title I of the ADA but also imposed undue hardship, including accumulating medical debt and legal fees.

Our Specific Requests:

Mandate Telecommunications ADA Accommodations for individuals with TAR Syndrome and limb deformities, enabling them to work from home in secure workspaces. This is essential for their safety, health, and productivity.
Ensure Accessibility and Accountability: These accommodations must be readily available and accessible, preventing workplace harassment or danger. Companies, especially those like Charter Communications (Spectrum), must be held accountable for denying these reasonable accommodations.
Reconcile Jeramiah's Employment with Charter Communications: We call upon the Federal Government and State Officials to intervene and seek justice for Jeramiah. This includes a thorough investigation into the wrongful termination and appropriate measures to rectify the injustice endured.
Create a More Inclusive Workforce: Recognize the urgent need for Telecommunications ADA Accommodation and act decisively to create a working environment where every individual, regardless of their physical abilities, can contribute meaningfully in a manner that is safe, secure, and conducive to their well-being.
