Tarleton graduates have been dreaming of walking the stage for the last four years. However, due to COVID-19, our May commencement ceremony was postponed. While saddened, we looked forward to walking the stage in August and to have our families there to cheer us on. 

Originally, graduates received 8 tickets for their families to come to their graduation and could receive up to 2 additional tickets if there were leftovers. However, now that Tarleton has combined Spring and Summer ceremonies into one weekend with 5 ceremonies, graduates are only being given 4 tickets with no additional tickets available. This cuts the number of family members able to go to graduates ceremony in half and makes graduates have to make heart breaking decisions on who cannot come.

I am petitioning for Tarleton State University to break the Spring/Summer ceremonies into two separate weekends in August with 5 ceremonies each weekend so student can still have 8 tickets for their families. This makes it to where the stadium has the same number of people, but simply half the graduates with their 8 family members.

For every Texan graduate, we EARNED it!
