Help in fixing community storm drainage system next to my home;
The Issue
The Tanyard Cove North Community Storm drainage system placed by the Elm Street Development Inc next to my townhouse is not draining adequately. This is part of the Anne Arundel County Waterway Development project under Elm Street Development. It is a component part of the community runoff system and the water takes days to drain long after the other nearby runoff systems have drained. It is close to the street, the FIOS box and to my townhouse. I am also concerned that young children playing close to the house could fall in.
A major concern is that the nearby Community Storm drainage systems that are directly connected to the storm drainage system placed next to my property could be adversely affected. In particular the larger storm Storm Drainage System behind my house could be adversely impacted and this could cause greater problems for the community down the road.
During the late summer the water would become stagnant and this is a concern for the neighborhood.
Just this past week I noticed that they dug out the storm drainage system and laid new pipe for one of my close neighbors. A solution for the Storm drainage system next to my property is to have a similar correction or other correction as appropriate.
Recently some neighbors have discussed with this with me and suggested a petition and so I am starting a petition to request that this be addressed and fixed by the ELM Street Development In. I understand that the Elm Street Development Inc. Surety Bond for the neighborhood is maturing within the next year and this is an absolute necessity that they fix this so that this does not become a required expense for the HOA in the future.
Could you please sign this petition that the ELM Street Development Corporation system help us correct this part of the community drainage system under the guidance of the HOA.
