Play ‘N’ Learn Preschool Instagram video promotes Easter bunnies for small children, the video shows a frightened bunny being mishandled & stressed. (Angora & Fuzzy breed rabbits need special grooming to prevent painful matted fur)  

Bunnies - Every Easter when the novelty wears off, thousands of bunnies intended as pets end up abused, abandoned or dead.  Being prey animals bunnies startle easily to loud noise and do not like being handled/lifted off the ground, this can result in children being kicked, scratched or bitten. Bunnies/rabbits have fragile bones and if dropped often results in broken bones or spines, rabbits can break their own backs kicking to escape what they believe are predators.

Tortoise Michelangelo - According to news articles Michelangelo is a friendly old tortoise rescue that was living at the Preschool and attacked by an intruder.  Michelangelo was used to provide rides for small children instead of being given respect and a healthy living environment.  Tortoises are extremely sensitive creatures and can feel the slightest touch to their skin and shells, they are not pack animals nor are their bodies designed to carry weight.  At the least - the practice of riding tortoises is inhumane. 

We the petitioners respectfully ask Play ‘N’ Learn Preschool owners to educate themselves on each animal in their care and provide all species care in the best interest of the animals health and well being.  We ask the Preschool educate children on proper care and interaction with all animals and teach the children to respect animals rather than use them as toys or entertainment.

We the petitioners ask Play ‘N’ Learn Preschool to stop promoting fragile prey animals as Easter bunnies for small children and provide educational games or activities that does not result in more bunnies and rabbits being injured, sick, mistreated or dumped after Easter.
 
We the petitioners ask Play ‘N’ Learn Preschool to respect Michelangelo when he is healed and never again let him be inhumanely ridden as a pack animal and provide a natural habitat promoting a healthy lifestyle.  We further ask that the Preschool consider his safety and well being from the animal abuser who intended to take his life (twice) and consider placing him in a undisclosed sanctuary.
