Frog Barbee is a high school freshman that used their platform to speak out against a boy that consistently used hateful and abusive language. On monday December 6th, Frog was removed from the Global Studies and World Languages Academy and given a week of out of school suspension. They were told that their behavior was not that of a global citizen and are being forced to enroll in a different school. The boy, however, has recieved no punishment after the initial referral. His behavior has not changed. This sets a dangerous precedent of the school being able to expel anyone they don't like. The double standard is also very visible. We are asking for Mx. Barbee to be absolved of their suspension and let back in to the academy, as they have the right to speak out against whoever they want. We want the preceding referrals removed from their record. Mrs. Windish, the academy coordinator, is known for microaggressions. She is hurting people with her inaction. We will not stand for this.
