Sack Alan Brazil.

Sack Alan Brazil.

The Issue

On 12th August 2014, just hours after the actor, Robin Williams had been found dead, the talkSPORT radio presenter, Alan Brazil, ranted that he had "no sympathy" with the deceased actor. His reason? Because suicide is "selfish", according to Brazil.

He has since stood by his comments, refusing to apologise or show any remorse.

As someone who personally knows two former victims of depression, I found these comments to be nothing short of sickening. Alan Brazil knows absolutely nothing about depression and its damaging effects on human beings. Yet he still had the audacity to openly say that Robin Williams was "selfish", for having succumbed to depression, and committed suicide. Not only would this offend Mr Williams' family, but also thousands of listeners, many of whom (like me) know someone who has been (or is) depressed.

Bear in mind, Alan Brazil was convicted of drink-driving in 2007, yet he calls a victim of severe depression "selfish"? This is unacceptable.

I therefore ask talkSPORT, to dismiss Alan Brazil. His comments were incredibly disrespectful and offensive to a large group of people, and for this, I feel that he deserves to be reprimanded. Please sign this petition, to show talkSPORT that we will not stand for these despicable comments by the British radio presenter, Alan Brazil.

Thank you.
