Recently, my son faced a distressing incident on the playground at Amsterdam International Community School (AICS), which has compelled me to address the urgent need for improved safety measures at our beloved school. Myself, along with numerous other parents and caregivers, are gravely concerned about the ongoing safety issues affecting our children.

The playground, meant to be a place of joy and learning, has unfortunately become a zone of repeated incidents. There is an alarming lack of adequate supervision and security that has occasionally led to distressing situations. Such oversights put our children's safety at significant risk, and immediate action is essential to prevent future incidents.

We propose several actionable solutions to address this critical issue:

1. **Increased Supervision**: Hiring additional staff dedicated exclusively to supervising the playground during school hours is essential. This will ensure that all areas are constantly monitored to prevent any untoward incidents.

2. **Improved Training**: Conduct thorough safety and conflict resolution training for all playground staff to prepare them for effectively managing accidents and resolving conflicts.

3. **Enhanced Security Measures**: Installing secure perimeter fencing and functioning gates can help prevent children from leaving the school premises unattended.



The safety of our children should not be a matter open to compromise. By implementing these changes, AICS can ensure a safer environment conducive to the holistic development of every student.
