Take Gelatin out of food products

Take Gelatin out of food products
The Issue
Many food products in America contain the gelling agent known as gelatin, an animal byproduct produced from the collagen in animal bones. Gelatin can be found in jelly sweets, cereal, yoghurt, chips, chocolate and even peanuts.
There are so many products in the United States that contain the unnecessary gelling agent and millions of animals are bred and killed so that their collagen can be used in food products. The gelatin itself is extracted from boiled animal bones, intestines and animal organs to make it form into a gelling agent. There are many alternatives to gelatin such as fruit pectin, agar-agar (made from seaweed,) tapioco flour and corn starch . Foods such as peanuts do not need to contain any gelling agent to maintain their flavor and their is simply no need for gelatin in cereals. Please take a moment to sign this petition to ask certain food producers to stop using gelatin and find an alternative.
