Take back Colorado's roads
The Issue
Every day, as I drive and ride through Colorado, I can't help but notice the deteriorating condition of our roads. It's a daily struggle to avoid the numerous potholes that sneak up on us unexpectedly. I live here, I drive here, and I ride here, and I'm witnessing firsthand the danger and inconvenience these roads pose.
Colorado's roads are a disgrace and a threat to public safety. They are riddled with potholes that are not just a nuisance, but a serious hazard. Families, motorcyclists, and commuters face the daily risk of damage to their vehicles, costly repairs, and for motorcyclists, even the potential for life-threatening injuries. No matter how carefully we navigate, these potholes remain an unpredictable menace that could cost us dearly.
Consider this: every pothole can result in hundreds or even thousands of dollars in vehicle repair costs. For a motorcyclist, a stable ride one second can turn into a dangerous accident the next. It’s beyond unacceptable that in a state as beautiful as Colorado, our roads are this unsafe and neglected. We deserve better.
This is a public safety issue, not a political one. Yet, we find ourselves paying our taxes, registration fees, and fuel taxes, only to drive on roads that are not commensurate with what we pay. Where is the accountability? Where is the urgency? Our state needs to prioritize fixing this fundamental infrastructure and ensure that our roads are safe and reliable.
We are calling on the Colorado Department of Transportation, state officials, and local municipalities to allocate proper funding and resources to address this urgent matter. There must be a robust, swift response to repair and maintain the roads that we pay for, travel on, and depend upon.
Join us in demanding immediate action to repair Colorado’s roads. Sign this petition, tell your stories, share your photos, and together let’s push for change and safety on our roads. We cannot afford to wait any longer. Enough is enough. Sign the petition and let’s take back Colorado’s roads.
