The Cherokee County school board changed the school rules for phones and are affecting the parent to student easy communication!! The new rule requires students to have phones away in their bags at all times from 9am-4pm. This rule can be less efficient for parents to contact their kids quickly. Lots of students AND parents agree strongly that this rule should be taken down. Some say that it distracts kids from learning but in reality it does the opposite. Some kids may be texting or playing games on their phone but most focus on their school work and get it done and have free time on their phone but even now no one is allowed to have their phones at lunch, in the hall, or even if they are trying to do school work on it. Lunch and hall time is the most break kids get out of about 170 days of 8 hours of school and then even when they get home most kids have homework or schoolwork to do before they get free time. Its unfair to the students that this rule has been applied. If you live in cherokee county and agree with these statements please help support taking down this rule!!
