I have always believed in justice, fairness, and respectful treatment for all individuals, regardless of their immigration status. However, over the years, I have become increasingly concerned and disheartened by the actions and policies implemented by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the United States. Their approach, often marked by aggression and a lack of transparency, severely infringes on human rights and breaks the trust between the government and the people it serves.

Reports have shown numerous instances where ICE has engaged in unlawful practices, including unwarranted raids, detention of individuals without due process, and unethically separating families. For example, a comprehensive study by the American Civil Liberties Union highlighted that thousands of U.S. citizens have been detained illegally by ICE. In one egregious case, a U.S. citizen spent three years unlawfully detained. Such situations are not only unjust but deeply un-American, contradicting the foundational values of freedom and liberty.

This petition calls for immediate reform of ICE's policies and practices. We demand increased oversight and transparency in ICE operations, ensuring accountability and adherence to the rule of law. Moreover, there should be an establishment of independent review boards to examine ICE's actions and provide recommendations for improvement.
