Jason Lee Middle School was named after pioneer Jason Lee, who was a genocidal white supremacist. Jason Lee was a missionary whose work in the establishment of Indian Boarding Schools and the support of local colonizing and trading operations contributed to the devastation of the lives, cultures, and histories of innumerable Indigenous people throughout the Pacific Northwest.
