Students are being affected with a heavy workload, causing them to lose sleep and gain stress. Our teachers at Tabb High School have been assigning an excessive amount of Wednesday work when it is meant to be a catch-up day. I want to start a petition to make teachers follow the guideline outlined by the county and our principal to make Wednesdays catch-up days while school is online. We should not be buried in assignments, no matter what our grade level is. As for the AP courses, which are the only courses currently allowed to assign anything on Wednesdays, I think the only work they should be allowed to assign is notes. This should be a back-up in case they aren’t able to cover all the materials in class. It should not be used to provide unnecessary work and projects on things that have already been covered in class. Overall, Wednesdays should be spent catching up on work and assignments that have been previously assigned, and should not be days where anything other than notes in AP classes can be given.
