I started this petition to let SyFy know that we would like to see more films in the “Sharktopus” franchise. I actually love SyFy’s original creature-features, they’re proud, shameless, gloriously brainless and redefine "so bad it's good" for a new generation. Not to mention some of their monsters are pretty damn awesome. And Sharktopus is personally one of my favourites.

But, I just wish that they didn’t end it as a trilogy. Sharknado has a lot of sequels, 2-Headed Shark Attack has a lot of sequels, Planet of the Sharks has… one sequel, Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus has a lot of sequels, SO WHY doesn’t Sharktopus?!!!

In my opinion, Sharktopus is just one of those cool movie monsters that tend to be overshadowed by the Demogorgons, Xenomorphs, and Predators of the world.

I believe that there should be way more sequels (or versus movies) about Sharktopus. They could even make crossovers or spin-offs surrounding this particular creature. Imagine if Sharktopus fought other SyFy licensed monsters, such as “Piranhaconda”, “Dinocroc” and “Supergator” etc.

Or, like “Pteracuda” and “Whalewolf”, maybe SyFy can make up MORE new hybrid-mutant beasts for Sharktopus to fight. I love the idea of 2 or more distinct kinds of animals mixed together to create 1 ultimate killing machine and I personally wish to see an extensive roster in the Sharktopus rogues gallery.

There's a whole lot of fun not being explored. And with Legendary's Godzilla MonsterVerse proving to be exceptionally successful, maybe, just maybe, SyFy can throw their hat into the ring, and use this petition as a means to start their own shared universe centered on monsters.

As for new creature concept designs, SyFy could always get inspiration from the monsters of Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise. (And I do mean… inspiration, not copycat.)
