"Please help us get all retired logos approved for "Commercial Use" at SWOSU"

The Issue

Retro/Throwback logos and jerseys are a great way to reconnect and engage with alumni, friends, fans, etc. Unfortunately, at this time, there is only one approved athletic logo (with variations) of the Bulldog to use for commercial use.  The bulldog looks great but due to regulations, many people feel like students are not able to purchase "stylish" and "current" apparel decorated with SWOSU on it. Southwestern Oklahoma State University has entered into an agreement a licensing company to regulate the use of all of the logos (which they own).  The company is very reputable but they could be a bit large for the NCAA Div.II arena.  The licensing company does good work for the university but there are absolutely no exceptions at this point for the ability to use any Southwestern Oklahoma State Athletic logo from the past.  A great example would be to replicate vintage t-shirts from the 1996 National Championship Game, or the Aztec and/or the Apple Bowl.  Many times these types of decisions are decided collectively by several campus departments rather than by just one or two people.  If all of the retired and vintage logos were available for commercial use, it would allow SWOSU Alumni & Friends to represent their era at events such as Homecoming, Team Reunions, golf tournaments and other types of university functions.  If approved for commercial use, the vintage logos would not only allow the university to make much more money on licensing fees and royalties but would also allow student organizations to boost fundraising efforts.  If we can get 500+ names and signatures, a large group of athletic alumni from SWOSU feel that the university administration will take a closer look at approving these logos for commercial use.
