Our school is an amazing place, we have great teachers, students working very hard, and everyone gets their one laptop running Windows 10. However, I have a problem I would like to address about our school laptops. We run Windows on them which is great but there are a few major issues with it. For one, Microsoft generally does not respect your privacy as they are already collecting much data about you. Another issue is that it is what is called closed-source, which means that nobody but Windows developers can see the code meaning that we do not know what data they could be collecting about us. The final issue is that so many people use it, many hackers are mainly focusing on Windows meaning that if students aren't careful, they could easily get a virus. But there is a solution! And that solution is Linux. But before we switch to Linux I would like to explain what it is. Linux actually not just an operating system is just a whole lot of code that developers use to make what we call Linux distributions. Since the code for Linux is open-source, we can trust it much more than Windows. So, now that you know all about Linux I would like to tell you about Zorin OS (A Linux Distribution).
