Electrical and electronic gadgets consume power when in standby mode. Switch them off. Save power. Reduce carbon emissions. For instance, if in 1 year everyone switched off their television sets instead of putting them in standby mode in UK, we would save 1.8 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
