Swansea's shopping area Picton Arcade is named after Sir Thomas Picton. Picton was a slave owner and tortured a 14 year old girl.The young girl sadly was tortured by hanging her by one arm then resting with one foot on a small peg for an hour, on many occasions. 

Globally there are 20 namings in his honour. 11 of which are in the UK. Each one needs renaming as its only a reminder of our past with colonialism and slavery. We shouldn't have these namings as a reminder.
