Demand Sussex CCG's reconsider the awarding of the PTS contract to Coperforma

The Issue

Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups have decided against all advice to award the Patient Transport Service contract to a managed service provider-Coperforma, a private company who are supposed to use a network of local patient transport providers. The cost of the contract has been massively undervalued by the CCG's. The only way it can realistically be maintained is by cutting eligibility of patients who use the service. The awarding of this contract to Coperforma could also put at risk up to 180 jobs of highly trained, experienced and caring staff who are employed by the current provider and have an adverse effect for patients that use the service
