I am a senior student attending Tates Creek Highschool in Lexington,Ky. Recently my school policies have changed & not for the better! We now cannot attend prom after being suspended from school even if the reasoning was non-violent. This is not a Fayette county school rule, this is a Tates Creek High school rule. Students & even parents did not have a voice in this new rule. When students try to have a voice it’s unheard or we are punished with suspension. Prom is what all high school students look forward to & what graduates look back at! Snatching this core memory from a high school student is not right. We also cannot attend prom with an EOS( Equal opportunity schools) score lower than 80%. The teachers can drop the score for as little as putting your head down. This is not right & students deserve prom! Help make a change to the school, save students from the school draining their mental health!
