Over the past several years, New Mexico State Highway 128 has become increasingly dangerous. This highway has seen more than its fair share of traffic related fatalities. We propose that the state make this a four lane highway instead of the two lane. Making this highway a four lane will save lives and greatly improve the flow of heavy oilfield traffic. Our emergency services personnel respond to at least one crash a week on this road and many of them are often fatal. How many more lives have to be taken before the state sees this as a problem? Being one of the richest counties in New Mexico, funding should not be the issue. Let’s make our roads safer!!
