To all my survivor friends and family as you know I am an inter generational survivor raised in an industrial school along with my siblings having both my parents also survivors of these institutions. We need a separate archive for all industrial, reformatory and orphanage survivors in Ireland to be kept independently without any amalgamation into the Magdalene Laundries, The Mother and Baby Homes archives.  We are a separate minority group which come under the remit of the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse, the Redress Institution Redress Board 2002 and The Ryan Report 2009.  We do not want our history enmeshed into the other two commissions; namely Justice for the Magdalenes and the Commission into Mother and Baby Homes.  We are a separate entity.  Survivors of industrial schools were sent into these institutions under court orders to be detained.  The State and Church ran these institutions and failed in their duty of care to us.  We as adults are suffering and are retraumatised over and over again.  Please join with me in sustaining our archives in a separate place other than the Sean Mac Dermott Street Project which was previously a Magdalene Laundry which closed in 1996.
