The USDA has failed breeding dogs. Breeding parents spend their entire lives in 24 hr confinement in cages. Mothers are usually bred at every heat cycle and when they are no longer able to produce, they are killed inhumanely. Either shot, drowned or put in incinerator. There is MOUNDS of evidence supporting multiple violations against these Commercial Breeding facilities aka Puppy Mills, yet they are allowed to continue these inhumane practices to our companion animals. Dogs have very poor diets, have many open wounds with little to no veterinarian care. If they do receive any vet care, often times it's by unlicensed Puppy Millers using expired medicines and withOUT anesthesia! Dogs never touch grass or get any exercise. They are never socialized. They have no protection from heat, cold or inclement weather. They sit in their own feces. Some are blind, deaf or without their vocal chords because they have been debarked. Many of these dogs have illnesses such as parvo, giardia, hook & ring worm, mange, kennel cough, hip displasia, tooth decay and diseases in their mouths, mammary tumors, glaucoma, retinal degeneration, epilepsy, dislocated kneecaps, overgrown nails, genetic defects, skin disease, birth defects and many other health issues. With an estimate of over 10,000 mills, The USDA is NOT doing their job effectively. Inspections reveal there are many facilities with anywhere from 100's up to 1,500 dogs at times of inspection and Puppy Millers are NOT getting any violations. The ones with years of violations are allowed to cancel old licenses then quickly obtain new licenses. (Clean slate) We are sick and tired of fighting for legislation that will better protect these animals from animal cruelty. There should be ZERO tolerance! It's time these innocent suffering living beings get the justice they all deserve I urge all that feel this same way, to sign this petition urging the truths about the USDA be exposed .
