New Jersey is one of the few states that allows abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. By 20 weeks, science shows that unborn children are capable of feeling pain, yet they remain completely unprotected under state law. This is a deep injustice, and it is long past time for change.

The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act — Assembly Bill A4557 and Senate Bill S382 — would ban abortion at and after 20 weeks of pregnancy, while allowing for certain exceptions. The bill is currently awaiting action in committee, and strong public support is needed to encourage legislators to act.
