Thanks to your support, we are excited to announce that our planning application for The Oval Bandstand is to be determined by councillors at next week’s planning committee meeting. We’re also delighted to share that we have secured government funding to begin the renovation. However, if the application is not approved at this meeting, we will be required to return the funding, which would represent a significant setback for Margate.

To ensure we receive the required approval we have one more thing to ask of you, and help make this project a reality.

Please send a short email in support of the planning application to

 planning.services@thanet.gov.uk  and make sure to include:

- the application reference number F/TH/23/1614

- your full name

- your full postal address (this will not be published)

In your email, if you are in favour of the following initiatives, please mention them:

- A new community bookshop

- A new wellness garden

- A free-to-use community gym

- A safe and secure amphitheatre free from vandalism and anti-social behaviour

- Covered seating areas

- Ramps and handrails in the auditorium for step-free access

- Lots of ecology improvements, including wildlife corridors and multi-species hedgerows

- A new indoor community café
