Armidale Regional Council endorsed their Draft Active Transport Strategy at their meeting on Wednesday. This very comprehensive Report produced by GHD of Tamworth now goes on public exhibition for a period of 28 days. It is a very comprehensive report and includes the rail trail as well as proposals for cycle tracks all through Armidale and the villages. The motion includes a requirement for GHD to organise a workshop with the Councillors and a workshop with community members. When this is advertised it will be good to see a number of cyclists attend. Cr Robinson has been a staunch advocate of safe cycling in Armidale for years and would have been active in helping to develop this report.  At the end of the 28 days a further report will be issued.
